    So, I've got a number of items that are installed prior to the first reboot by WPI, and it seems that no matter the combination of apps (I could install one, maybe two apps), it would invariably need a restart, and then I get this odd error:

    is the server connection lost during reboot?

    Can you copy that main wpi folder to the end machine via server during the first process?

    Yes - this would be a wireless laptop primarily (although I'll test it with a wired connection). Does WPI processing occur before Wireless Zero Configuration takes over?

    I'm mainly pulling most of my installations via remote server shares - would this be a problem, or should I focus on making all my resources available in the WPI folder, and maybe have them on a removable hard disk? I'm just trying to keep all the installation source folders pointing to our network just in case the MSI's need to repair themselves.

    Our galaxy's 'geysers' are towers of power

    Jan. 2, 2013 ? "Monster" outflows of charged particles from the centre of our Galaxy, stretching more than halfway across the sky, have been detected and mapped with CSIRO's 64-m Parkes radio telescope. Corresponding to the "Fermi Bubbles" found in 2010, the outflows were detected by astronomers from Australia, the USA, Italy and The Netherlands. The finding is reported in the Jan 2 issue of Nature.

    "These outflows contain an extraordinary amount of energy -- about a million times the energy of an exploding star," said the research team's leader, CSIRO's Dr Ettore Carretti.

    But the outflows pose no danger to Earth or the Solar System.

    The speed of the outflow is supersonic, about 1000 kilometres a second. "That's fast, even for astronomers," Dr Carretti said. "They are not coming in our direction, but go up and down from the Galactic Plane. We are 30,000 light-years away from the Galactic Centre, in the Plane. They are no danger to us."

    From top to bottom the outflows extend 50,000 light-years [five hundred thousand million million kilometres] out of the Galactic Plane. That's equal to half the diameter of our Galaxy (which is 100,000 light-years -- a million million million kilometres -- across).

    Seen from Earth, the outflows stretch about two-thirds across the sky from horizon to horizon. The outflows correspond to a "haze" of microwave emission previously spotted by the WMAP and Planck space telescopes and regions of gamma-ray emission detected with NASA's Fermi space telescope in 2010, which were dubbed the "Fermi Bubbles."

    The WMAP, Planck and Fermi observations did not provide enough evidence to indicate definitively the source of the radiation they detected, but the new Parkes observations do.

    "The options were a quasar-like outburst from the black hole at the Galactic Centre, or star-power -- the hot winds from young stars, and exploding stars," said team member Dr Gianni Bernardi of the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, in Cambridge, Massachusetts. "Our observations tell us it's star-power."

    In fact, the outflows appear to have been driven by many generations of stars forming and exploding in the Galactic Centre over the last hundred million years.

    The key to determining this was to measure the outflows' magnetic fields.

    "We did this by measuring a key property of the radio waves from the outflows -- their polarisation," said team member Dr Roland Crocker of the Max-Planck-Institut fuer Kernphysik in Heidelberg, Germany, and the Australian National University.

    The new observations also help to answer one of astronomers' big questions about our Galaxy: how it generates and maintains its magnetic field. "The outflow from the Galactic Centre is carrying off not just gas and high-energy electrons, but also strong magnetic fields," said team member Dr Marijke Haverkorn of Radboud University Nijmegen in The Netherlands.

    "We suspect this must play a big part in generating the Galaxy's overall magnetic field."

    How to move messages on your iPhone and iPad

    The iPhone and iPad are great devices for reading, organizing, and sorting email. We've already shown you how to create new mailboxes on your iPhone and iPad and we're guessing you're now going to want to sort messages into those new mailboxes. If you don't know how, follow along and we'll walk you through.

    How to move individual mail messages to different mailboxes on your iPhone and iPad

    1. Launch the Mail app from the Home screen of your iPhone or iPad.
    2. Tap into the Inbox that contains the messages you'd like to move. You can also go into All Inboxes if that's easier.
    3. Tap on the message that you'd like to move in order to open it.
    4. Tap on the Move icon in the lower menu. It is the 2nd one from the left.
    5. Now tap on the mailbox you'd like to move the message to.

    How to move multiple messages to different mailboxes on your iPhone and iPad

    1. Launch the Mail app from the Home screen of your iPhone or iPad.
    2. Tap into the Inbox that contains the messages you'd like to move. You can also go into All Inboxes if that's easier.
    3. Once you're in an inbox, tap on the Edit button in the upper right hand corner of the screen.
    4. Tap on the messages you'd like to move to a different mailbox so they are highlighted.
    5. Now tap on the Move button in the bottom menu.
    6. Choose the mailbox you'd like to move the selected messages to and they'll automatically be moved there.

    It's worth noting that some account types allow for folder mapping which means you can move messages from one account to a different account. When moving a message you can go back to the account list and choose a different account. If your email service provider doesn't support this, you'll just receive an error message stating the messages can't be moved.

    Omega-3s may not protect against faulty heart rhythm

    NEW YORK (Reuters Health) - Sorry, Charlie, but fish oil supplements did not prevent atrial fibrillation in patients who had already experienced episodes of the heart rhythm malfunction, a new clinical trial has found.

    The study, published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, adds to a growing pool of disappointing evidence regarding the protective effects of omega-3 fatty acids on heart health.

    "The results for atrial fibrillation are important negative findings, answering key clinical and research questions," said Dr. Dariush Mozaffarian, an omega-3 expert at the Harvard School of Public Health, who was not involved in the current study.

    The new research, combined with other trials, "indicates that short-term fish oil use is unlikely to prevent recurrent atrial fibrillation," he said.

    But if the supplements don't prevent heart rhythm problems, they don't appear to be dangerous, either. "In all these studies, fish oil was safe and well-tolerated, with no evidence for increased bleeding," Mozaffarian told Reuters Health.

    Atrial fibrillation, in which the heart's upper chambers beat out of step with those below, affects nearly one in 10 Americans in their 80s. The condition is linked to potentially life-threatening strokes and heart failure.

    Although doctors prescribe certain medications to treat the condition, none to date has proven particularly effective. As a result, most drug treatment focuses on preventing strokes by administering blood thinners to dissolve clots caused by the fibrillation.

    Some evidence suggests that omega-3 fatty acids, found in oily fish like sardines and tuna, might reduce the risk of atrial fibrillation, although exactly how they would produce their effect is not clear.

    A study published earlier this year in Circulation, for example, found that people with the most omega-3s in their blood had a 30 percent lower chance of developing an irregular heart beat than those with the lowest concentrations of the substances (see Reuters Health story of February 1, 2012).

    That 30 percent difference would work out to eight fewer cases of atrial fibrillation per 100 people - which would be a meaningful benefit if it could be enjoyed by those with fibrillation or at risk for it, just by consuming more omega 3s.

    But the latest study suggests that it probably can't. The trial included 586 men and women with a history of atrial fibrillation who were given a gram a day of fish oil or dummy capsules for a year. Participants also were allowed to take other drugs to control their heart rhythms, as prescribed by their doctors.

    At the end of the study period, about 24 percent of the people who took fish oil, and 20 percent of those who did not, had experienced a recurrence of atrial fibrillation - a difference so small, statistically, it was likely due to chance.

    The supplements also did not appear to reduce the risk of other cardiovascular ailments - including stroke, heart attack, heart failure - or death from any cause.

    The findings on atrial fibrillation echo results from a study led by Mozaffarian published in November, of patients recovering from heart surgery.

    Even so, Dr. Alejandro Macchia, a cardiologist at the GESICA Foundation in Buenos Aires, who led the current study and collaborated with Mozaffarian on the previous one, said fish oil may still prove beneficial for heart health, at least in some patients.

    "I am not sure the story is over," Dr. Macchia told Reuters Health. "I think we have enough evidence to say that there is no role of (omega-3 fatty acids) for the prevention of atrial fibrillation" in patients with a history of the condition, he said. "However in the context of primary prevention - those people who had never had a previous episode of atrial fibrillation - there is a reasonable room for a well-designed and very large clinical trial."

    NYC suspects had 'terrorist encyclopedia,' police say

    Police arrested a New York City couple in their apartment on Saturday after authorities investigating a credit card theft found a highly explosive compound, bomb-making manuals, a sawed-off shotgun and ammunition, officials said on Monday.

    Morgan Gliedman, 27, and Aaron Greene, 31, are being charged with two counts of suspicion of criminal possession of a weapon, for the shotgun, court documents show.?

    One sheaf of papers found in the apartment had a cover page that read "The Terrorist Encyclopedia," according to court documents.?

    Greene has been arraigned and held without bail, according to a law enforcement official involved in the investigation, who was not authorized to discuss the ongoing investigation.?

    Gliedman had not yet been arraigned on Monday morning, said a spokeswoman for Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr.?

    Police went to the couple's Greenwich Village apartment Saturday to question Gliedman, the daughter of a prominent New York doctor, to investigate a credit card theft, according to a second law enforcement official.?

    At the apartment, detectives discovered a plastic bottle containing seven grams of Hexamethylene triperoxide diaminean, or HMTD, court documents show.?

    HMTD is commonly used in homemade bombs. The discovery prompted the evacuation of nearby buildings, the second source said.?

    Police also discovered a cache of bomb-making manuals and handwritten notebooks containing chemical formulas, the second source said.?

    Additionally, investigators recovered a 12-gauge Mossberg 500 shotgun, ammunition, nine high-capacity rifle magazines and a flare launcher, the second source said.?

    Gliedman's father is Paul Gliedman, director of radiation oncology at Beth Israel Hospital in Brooklyn, according to law enforcement officials.

    Neither Paul Gliedman nor his wife, Susyn Schops Gliedman, a Douglas Elliman realtor, returned calls for comment.?

    Morgan Gliedman studied creative writing at The School of The Art Institute of Chicago, according to her Facebook page, which contains a photo of Gliedman outside a pink dressing room, posing in a black, scoop-neck sweater and red checkered skirt.?

    Greene attended Harvard University in Cambridge, Mass., according to the New York Post, which first reported the arrests.?

    The newspaper quoted a law enforcement source as saying that Greene was an Occupy Wall Street activist whose political views were "extreme."?

    Two spokesmen for Occupy Wall Street's New York chapter said they had no knowledge of Greene.?
