Matt Vadas '14 Scored 26 Points Against Bridgewater State University Wednesday

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. --Bridgewater State University earned a 59-53 victory against Connecticut College in the first round of the Land of Magic Classic hosted by Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Fla.
The Bears improve to 3-5 with the victory, while the Camels fall to 3-6 with the setback.
"That was a tough loss," Connecticut College Head Men's Basketball Coach Tom Satran said. "We played well for most of the first half but Bridgewater State really wore us down in the second. They pressured us into some mistakes that we have to avoid if we are going to be able to compete against top teams."
Sophomore sharp-shooter Matt Vadas (Spring Lake Heights, N.J.) poured in 26 points to lead the Camels.
Mason Lopez (Edgewater, N.J.) and Jethro Anilus (Stamford, Conn.) chipped in with 10 points each. Lopez hauled in a team-best nine rebounds in 29 minutes of action while Anilus logged 19 minutes of action without committing a turnover.
Samuel Johnson (North Chelmsford, Mass.) led the Bears with 16 points and six rebounds in the triumph. Corey Ryser (Tewksbury, Mass.) finished with 12 points while Anthony Fortes (Providence, R.I.) added 11 points and to go with six caroms.
The Camels will meet Mount Aloysius Friday afternoon for a 4:00 p.m. game in Daytona Beach.
