NFL Free Agency 2012: Jaguars Are $40.6 Million Under The Salary Cap Entering Free Agency

While the Jacksonville Jaguars have claimed that they will not be making plays for expensive free agents, the Jags do have a great amount of cap space to go after free agents and provide depth. The official NFL salary cap was announced to be $120.6 million for 2012. When free agency begins on Tuesday afternoon, the Jaguars will be $40.6 million under the cap. Its the fourth highest amount under the cap in the league only behind the Cincinnati Bengals, Denver Broncos and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

One of the biggest needs this offseason is getting some help for second year quarterback Blaine Gabbert. While the Jaguars don't seem to be players for free agents such as Vincent Jackson, there is enough depth at wide receiver this offseason that they could find a diamond in the rough and not have to break the bank to sign him. Jacksonville has already expressed interest in pursuing Josh Morgan.
