Central time, Apache Corporation is continuing to closely monitor the storm in the Gulf of Mexico and as a precautionary measure, has ordered additional evacuations and production shut-ins.
In all, about 970 employees and contractors have been safely evacuated from the company?s offshore facilities in the Gulf. Apache-operated offshore production that has been or will be safely shut in by day?s end will total about 74,000 barrels of oil per day (45,000 bo/d net) and 312 million cubic feet of gas per day (203 mmcf/d net). Onshore, Apache will have safely shut in 8,500 bo/d (6,875 bo/d net) and 84 mmcf/d of gas (32 mmcf/d net) by day?s end.
