WE WILL BE HAVING A
WINTER SOLSTICE CELEBRATION
We will be discussing our families? winter traditions and celebrations during the next few weeks. We are learning about celebrations that take place in different parts of the world. As a culmination to these discussions, L-1 and L-2 are planning a ?Winter Solstice Celebration? on Thursday, December 13th.
We are asking your child to bring a sample of food or drink that is traditionally prepared in your home at this time of year. Both classes will come together to share the foods and celebrate at a Winter Solstice Potluck Lunch.
In order to have a balanced mix of appetizers, main courses, desserts and drinks we will have a sign up sheet in the classroom or you can respond to this posting. Here are some suggestions to choose from: cut vegetables with dip, soup, salads, hot vegetable casseroles, breads, a cold cut platter, cheeses, sweets and cider or hot cocoa. There are several children in the building with allergies to tree nuts, please be aware of this when choosing a dish to bring in. Please let us know what you plan to share with us.
PLEASE LABEL YOUR FOOD AND DISHES THAT ARE TO BE RETURNED TO YOU.
