Art Factory Family Fun Day offered at art museum ? Maine News ...

BANGOR, Maine ? Bring the whole family to a spring art-making event 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, May 14, at the University of Maine Museum of Art, 40 Harlow St. Different stations will be set up, each offering the chance to participate in various art projects. The museum is partnering with the Penobscot River Restoration Project, and representatives will be on hand to offer additional activities focused on birds and fish. All the supplies are free. Marecek golf scramble to be played at Rocky Knoll

ORRINGTON, Maine ? The third Annual Bobbie Marecek Memorial Scramble dedicated to Roberta J. Marecek, who passed away in 2007 after a battle with cancer and leukemia, will be held at 8 a.m. Saturday, July 9, at the Rocky Knoll Country Club in Orrington. All proceeds will go towards the Breast Cancer 3-Day, benefiting Susan G. Komen for the Cure. The cost is $220 per four-person team, which includes 18 holes of golf, a cart, lunch and prizes.
