Summary Box: Metals fall on economic worries (AP)

METALS FALL: Metals were down for the second day in a row. Copper for December delivery fell 6.7 cents, or 2 percent, to close at $3.374 per pound. December palladium dropped $7.05, or 1 percent, to close at $647.80 an ounce.

EUROPEAN WORRIES: Worries about weak demand for metals were stoked when the European Union warned that the region could slip into "a deep and prolonged recession" next year.

CROPS DOWN: Corn for December delivery fell 10.5 cents to settle at $6.455 per bushel. December wheat lost 23 cents to finish at $6.20 per bushel.
