Pistorius received a huge welcome from the Olympic Stadium crowd as he took to the blocks and ran a strong race from start to finish, crossing the line ahead of third-placed Maksim Dyldin of Russia. This crowd is amazing. I?ve run so many times in the UK and it feels like a second home for me.? The current 400m Paralympic champion also competed at the World Championships in Daegu last summer, where he reached the semi-finals. And he was thrilled to progress again today. ?I?ve got the most amazing team behind me and they let me peak when I need to,? he said. ?We?ve been together for nine years and this wouldn?t be possible without them.? Pistorius will now run in the 400m semi-finals tomorrow night, while also competing in the men?s 4x400m relay heats on Thursday. Pictures: Click here to see images from yesterday?s athletics events
