Roddy White, the star wide-receiver for the Atlanta Falcons, had some choice things to say on Twitter about the not guilty verdict handed down to George Zimmerman, who was on trial for the shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin.
?All them jurors should go home tonight and kill themselves for letting a grown man get away with killing a kid,? White tweeted?after the not guilty verdict was in.
Before he said that Zimmerman ?? got away with murder today wow what kind of world do we live in.?
White?s tweets underscored the nationwide tension that escalated following Zimmernan?s acquittal.
The term ?#IfIEverSeeZimmerman? trended on Twitter shortly after the trial ended on Saturday night.
Some users expressed their outrage by making veiled threats to Zimmerman, some posted his ?address,? and others tried to keep a level head, saying violence and threats weren?t the way forward.
In a since-deleted tweet, Victor Cruz, the wide receiver for the New York Giants, wrote: ?Zimmerman doesn?t last a year til the hood catches up to him.?
Before he removed, his comment was retweeted numerous times, but he received flack for it.
